Industrial Style Lego Bedroom

This room design is such a special one to me because we designed it for a dear friend and neighbor!

We started off with most of the key furniture pieces for this big boy room, but was in need of an updated design with a more mature feel. In addition to a new design look, my client really wanted to have a designated space in the room for her son’s love for all things LEGOs! My client’s son, Grayson has a huge LEGO collection and with all those little LEGO pieces, it was becoming difficult to keep track of and keep organized. He also needed an area to display all of his wonderful LEGO creations that him and his dad have worked on together!

We designated an entire section of the room with a desk space where Grayson is now able to store and display every little last LEGO brick he owns…and play with them too! With how neatly organized this LEGO space is, Grayson can easily access any LEGO he wants right down to the brick color! The space consists of labeled storage organizer bins, rustic wooden shelving for storage and display of all those LEGO masterpieces, and a short wooden stool for seating.

My client’s husband installed the whole LEGO space himself, and even cut and stained the wood for the desktop! What I love about this desk is that it can be easily transitioned into a school work/study zone. The desk will get plenty of use long term for both work and play.

As for the rest of the bedroom’s design, my client wanted the room to have more of a minimalist look and an industrial feel with lots of neutrals and natural textures.

We spruced up the existing dresser and nightstand with leather pulls and accented them with modern-industrial style black metal lamps. We added a rectangular mirror to the dresser and layered it with a stunning antique brass picture frame.

The artwork over the bed and desk space are these vintage style LEGO prints to go with the LEGO theme and industrial vibe of the room.

The bedding already had a nice navy blue quilt from Restoration Hardware that was great quality so we decided not to replace it. We just added some new cognac throw pillows and a cream textured blanket to make the bed feel extra warm and cozy!

I loved sprucing up this room into a more mature big boy room for my neighbor’s son!
